About me
My name is Olivera Novakovic, and I am an experienced clinical psychologist and psychotherapist. For more than a decade, I've cultivated my skills in private psychotherapy practice and diverse healthcare and educational settings including primary health clinics, psychiatric hospitals, and schools. Additionally, I've dedicated a significant portion of my work to humanitarian efforts in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East and Europe including conflict and war-affected regions like Syria, Ukraine, and Nigeria. I now work from my home in London and online with people from all walks of life, facing major life changes, traumatic experiences or managing mental health conditions such as anxiety or depression. I work in English and Serbian language.
My approach is rooted in respect, curiosity, empathy, and transparency. While rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) form the foundation of my training, I consider myself an eclectic therapist, meaning I utilize a diverse range of therapeutic modalities to create a personalized treatment plan for each client.
I'm a firm believer in trauma-informed care and the importance of processing past traumas for a more fulfilling present. I also acknowledge the potential influence of transgenerational experiences, recognizing that suffering can often be rooted in previous generations.
Every therapeutic encounter is unique, demanding an individualized approach that addresses each person's specific needs. I assure you of my dedicated commitment to understanding you, listening patiently, and accompanying you on your journey towards healing and empowerment.
